GBC Secondary College Sport

On Saturday 29th July, TSAC hosted Rivermount college. We had many wins across sports on Primary and Secondary. In Basketball, our Senior Firsts had a competitive game where they lost 41-53. The team are making progress and Jackson Williams was a key player on Saturday. Our Intermediate Firsts had an outstanding win winning 53-23. The Junior Firsts drew 32-32 and Junior Seconds lost 29-28. Overall, all Basketball teams performed strongly against Rivermount. In Volleyball, our Senior Firsts had their second win of the season. Their coach and former student Tegan Huynh is making great tactical and technical progress with our Senior Firsts. In Football, Mr Sime had an excellent win with our Junior boys winning 4-2. Ethan Dobbs had a hattrick in the Intermediate Firsts with a 6-0 win. Unfortunately, our Senior First soccer team had a 3-2 loss despite being up 2-0. Lastly, Ms Clark had a full round of wins in Girls Touch Football with Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors winning.

This weekend we have a BYE round. The expectation is that students still attend training in preparation for our away game vs ATC/Brigidine on Saturday 12th August.

Football

Saturday the 29 of July saw TSAC football travel to Redeemer Lutheran. Year 5/6 TSAC Blue were on the field bright and early. TSAC took an early lead however were down just before half time. TSAC fought back and by the final whistle were victorious over their opponents.

Year 3/4 Blue played next and were unable to capture their success like last week. The Blue team continue to show signs of improvement and we look forward to seeing them grow week to week. Sadly, it was a similar result for 3/4 Red going down to a strong Staines side. Although the result TSAC still continued to compete hard and showed resilience when on the field.

5/6 Red played against Rivermount. Some exceptional Football was played amongst the older students with some great skill being on display. The 5/6 team loss the match however they should be proud of their effort and fight.

We look forward to hosting the third round of GBC on Saturday. Team photos will be taken before fixtures at the secondary campus. Please be aware of limited parking on Saturday due to construction. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Basketball

TSAC travelled to Redeemer Lutheran College again for their second GBC round. Both 3/4’s and 5/6 teams continue to show dominant performances. TSAC 3/4 Red and 5/6 Blue were first to take the courts on Saturday. Thank you to Brooklyn and Aiden from the 3/4 team moving to play with the 5/6’s this week. The change in team didn’t stop the 5/6’s putting on a basketball clinic. The ball was shared and passed brilliantly, with almost all players picking up an assist or a score. 3/4 Red although having a few players poached, didn’t miss a beat. They had a resounding win over their opponents.

3/4 Blue and 5/6 Red took the court straight after and TSAC continued to show their basketball skills. Our younger competitors played well above their age group and showed that the basketball future is bright at the college. 5/6 Red had a close game against RLC Blue. However, they snuck away as winners. I want to express the excellent sportsmanship amongst the TSAC players and am impressed by how quickly teams have been coming together.

TSAC is hosting our third round of GBC and photos will be taken at the secondary campus. Photo schedule will be posted on Nexus. Please also be aware of the construction that is taking place and parking may be limited.
