GBC Secondary

On Saturday 27th May, we hosted our GBC fixtures against Redeemer. Our senior 1sts netball team are sitting second of the ladder, therefore they are within reaching distance of finals. Likewise, our senior 2nds are also succeeding on the netball front where they also sit second of the table. Unfortunately, all girls’ soccer teams had an unsuccessful morning on the field with the senior girls going down 0-3, the intermediate girls 0-6, and the junior girls 1-6. Despite the scoreboard, all teams portrayed the utmost sportsmanship and determination on and off the field. Our boys intermediate touch team are at the top of the table having a strong 3-0 win against Redeemer. Our senior 1st touch footballers had a competitive game and have made significant progress over the season. Lastly, our junior and intermediate cricket teams had nail-biting losses. The juniors managed to get ahead with three balls to go but unfortunately lost a wicket which cost them five runs. The intermediate cricket team missed golden run out chances and lost on the last ball of the match. Positively, our senior cricket team dominated with a 115-66 therefore they are looking strong for finals.

This weekend, we play Rivermount College (away) which is our last round of the Term 2 sport season. We then head into finals on Saturday 10th June.

GBC Primary

Touch Football

On Saturday the 27 May our TSAC primary students travelled to the D.G. Sports Fields for round 5 of the GBC Fixtures. Our year 3/4 teams continue to transfer skills that they are learning in training to games. Sadly, scores are not reflecting the improvement our 3/4 teams are showing. Our 3/4 teams are continuing to work hard on the foundations of the game with significant improvement on basic game play being seen week to week.

Our 5/6 Teams also had tough matches with 5/6 Blue playing Sheldon Sky and 5/6 Red up against Redeemer. Our year 5 and 6 students have shown significant improvement in the skill of rucking in Touch Football. Increased training time has been spent on this skill and students should be proud of their effort transferring this to game play. As rucking becomes dominant amongst these young players, we’re excited to see the future of Touch Football at TSAC.

Our Final round of GBC is played next week on the 3 June out at Sheldon. We look forward to seeing our students perform a final time.

Indoor Cricket

TSAC Primary travelled to Ozsports for their round 5 fixture for Indoor Cricket. Both 3/4 team and 5/6 team played simultaneously. Both teams were victorious in their matches. With this being a wonderful achievement for our students, TSAC should be most proud of our students’ attitude and positive engagement in the sport. All students had exceptional sportsmanship when playing.

Our year 3/4 Team had a dominant performance against RLC Blue with the final score being 111 runs to 72. Our students were strong on bat with communication and timing of runs improving throughout the match. Year 5/6 Team had a strong showing against Staines with the final score 159 runs to 56. Some exceptional fielding by Claire B where she was able to get three run outs helped secure the large score margin.

With one round left of GBC we’re excited to see our TSAC Primary students take to the Indoor Cricket Court for a final time.
