GBC Secondary College Sport

On Saturday 19th August, TSAC secondary travelled to Sheldon for Round 5 fixtures. Our Senior Firsts and Alumni coach, Mitchell Burrows, has put in an excellent shift in with our Senior Boys Basketball. Our Principal Mr Morris was very impressed with our Senior Boys work ethic and approach to the game. Despite our Senior Firsts basketballers losing 59-32, coach Mitch emphasised that was the best he has seen the boys play all season. Our Senior Seconds Basketball team had a close game of 37-28. On the Football fields, our Junior Boys drew 2-2 with Mr Sime. Our Intermediates Won 6-2 & our Senior Firsts lost 6-1. Sheldon were very strong on the Girls Touch Football front having dominant wins with their Junior, Intermediate and Senior teams. Lastly in Girls Volleyball, our Senior Firsts lost 3-1 which means they sit joint 3rd on the ladder with Redeemer. Our Senior Seconds Volleyball team are sitting 2nd in the ladder. Our Junior and Intermediates Volleyball team also endured tough losses to Sheldon however it is always advantageous playing against strong opposition.

This Saturday and Monday we play Staines Memorial College.
Please check the fixture schedule carefully with regards to dates and times of games.

Football

Over the weekend TSAC students travelled to Rivermount College for our Football fixtures. Year 3/4 Red took the field and delivered an astounding display of skills, which won them the game. 5/6 Blue and 3/4 Blue played some exceptional football and showed signs of improvement in both attack and defense, however they were unable to take the win.  5/6 Red played a friendly match against TSAC students and used this as an opportunity to perfect their football skills. All students should be proud of their progress and effort. Anticipation is building as we eagerly await for the final week of GBC football. Best of luck to all teams!

Basketball

On Saturday TSAC travelled to Rivermount for their second last round of GBC Basketball. Our 5/6 teams were first to take the court. Both teams were winners against their opponents. We continue to see amazing attendance from our 5/6 teams. The connections between teammates continues to grow and we look forward to seeing them perform in their final game next week.

Year 3/4 teams took the courts directly after and both teams had strong performances against their opponents. Year 3/4 continue to play above their age with some impressive skills being on display. Both teams walked away victorious. All students continue to show improvement.

Next week students will travel to Sheldon college for their final round of GBC Basketball.
