GBC Secondary College Sport

On Saturday 12th August, TSAC travelled to ATC & Brigidine for Round 4 of GBC fixtures. The Senior Volleyball girls continued their winning streak with a  3-0 victory. The Senior Seconds, Intermediate Seconds, Junior Firsts and Junior Seconds also had excellent wins on the Volleyball front. Unfortunately, our Intermediate Firsts narrowly lost 2-1 against Brigidine. Our Senior First touch team had a BYE round therefore they achieved the forfeited points. Our Intermediate First touch team lost 15-0 competing against a strong and fast Brigidine team. Our Junior Firsts and Junior Seconds suffered losses on the touch field on Saturday morning. It was a tough day at the office for our Basketball and Football boys as they lost across board. It is great to play these strong schools as it demonstrates the standard we need to reach.

This weekend we play Sheldon away for Round 5 fixtures.

Round 4 GBC saw TSAC head to Redeemer Lutheran for a third time this season. Year 5/6 TSAC Blue took to the field first and competed against Redeemer. After the final whistle the scores were locked up at 1-1. In the final timeslot 3 TSAC teams were all competing.

Both 3/4 teams were down a few players. With both teams competing with 7 on the field. Although hot temperatures and playing with no substitutes, TSAC still competed hard and never gave up. We commend our younger students continuing to fight when things got tough.

5/6 Red team played against Staines. Staines were physical from the get-go and were too strong against TSAC. Although walking away with a loss TSAC still played with incredible heart.

We look forward to next week were TSAC will travel to Rivermount for week 5 of the competition.

On Saturday TSAC travelled to Redeemer Lutheran College for their fourth round of GBC. Year 3/4 TSAC Blue were first to take the court against Sheldon. With only having just enough players to take the court. TSAC Blue showed great heart against their opponents. Although only playing with 4 players at one stage, TSAC were still able to walk away with a win.

Year 5/6 Blue team played against Rivermount. As they have done so all season, 5/6 blue showed great team work on the court. Passing amongst all the players was exceptional. Defense was a strong point for 5/6 Blue as well. With all these positives 5/6 Blue were able to run away with another win.

In the final round both 3/4 Red and 5/6 Red took to the court. Like the previous teams that played before both teams showed heart and exceptional skill. 5/6 Red were resounding winners over Redeemer. 3/4 had an incredibly physical and close games against Staines. Even when things were getting heats TSAC was able to handle their nerves walking away as slim winners.

We look forward to our round 5 fixture at Rivermount next week.
