Sports Results – Saturday 5th September 2020
GBC Primary
Saturday saw a very successful weekend for our GBC Primary teams, with 5 wins secured from 7 fixtures, including a clean sweep of wins for the GBC Primary Football teams.
Both the TSAC Blue & TSAC Red Football teams are now a win away from completing undefeated seasons, after both sides secured wins in their toughest matches of the season so far. TSAC Blue overcame Redeemer Lutheran College Azure 2-1, whilst TSAC Red held off a tough Sheldon College Sky team 3 – 1.
The TSAC White Football team won its first game of the season, with an impressive 5 – 0 win against its Redeemer Lutheran College opposition.
On the basketball court, the TSAC Red Boys team got back on the winners list with a strong 37 – 0 win against Redeemer Lutheran College, whilst the TSAC White Boys team won a hard fought clash against Rivermount College 26 – 20.
Both the TSAC Blue Girls and Boys teams lost their fixtures narrowly, going down by 1 point and 3 points respectively.

Last Saturday saw the mighty TSAC Terriers host Redeemer Lutheran College in a tough morning of GBC Sport. Our basketball boys were sensational across all fixtures, taking four from six games with remaining score lines very close. Our football boys played at Springfield United Football Club enduring very solid opposition, and whilst not coming away with victories, did play extremely well.
Our Touch Football girls also played very hard-fought matches with our Firsts having yet another high scoring win. Finally, our Volleyball girls expected a very tough morning against Redeemer in the school’s mostly highly contested sport and this certainly proved to be the case. Despite this, all teams dug deep and played with the enthusiasm we’ve come to expect from them this term.
Another thoroughly enjoyable morning was had by all across three wonderful venues. We look forward to hosting the Crusaders of Faith Lutheran College Plainlands this Saturday for a fantastic final round of term 3 fixtures. Although there are no finals this term, our First VI Touch Football and First V Basketball teams will both be playing for premierships. Our basketball boys will be hoping that in addition to defeating Faith Lutheran College, Ambrose Treacey College can defeat Sheldon College. Our touch football girls, with a very impressive 34 point differential, will take the premiership with a win over their Faith Lutheran opponents who will also be fired up for a chance at the premiership after a shock draw with Sheldon College last weekend.
Best of luck to all teams this weekend and a very heartfelt thank you to all students, staff and parents for your efforts in getting back into sports following a very long and frustrating COVID shut down. It’s been wonderful seeing our kids back out on the court/field enjoying their sport and the healthy competition that comes with it.
