GBC Secondary

After a tough first two rounds of GBC Sport, before being locked down, teams travelled east to Sheldon College last Saturday for the eagerly anticipated return to Term 3 sport. Teams enjoyed some thrilling successes throughout the morning and quite enjoyed the staunch competition our bayside counterparts are known for offering.

The Senior First Volleyball girls continued their dominating form with a three sets victory over their undefeated opponents, setting our girls up for a very good chance of a premiership should other results go their way this weekend. The Senior Firsts boys and two Senior Seconds Basketball teams continue to show tremendous skill with each game. Outside, the Senior Firsts Touch Football girls continued their undefeated run with a decisive victory which also sets them up for a premiership should they defeat Brigidine this weekend. Seniors Firsts Boys Football also proved that they have the skills to contend with any of the GBC front runners suffering a hard fought defeat to Sheldon. The Junior Firsts Football Boys also continued their undefeated run with an outstanding win over Sheldon. All in all, a fantastic morning with all players demonstrating wonderful team spirit, comradery and humility.

This Saturday, 11 September TSAC will host teams from Ambrose Treacy College and Brigidine College for what will no doubt be a cracking morning to finish off GBC fixtures for 2021. All team photos will be taking place from 6.45am before the morning’s first fixtures. All players and coaches will need to be ready and waiting 15 minutes prior to their scheduled photo. It is important that all players are dressed in their correct team uniform and are wearing the white college or plain white sports socks or TSAC navy socks for Football.  Where students are involved in two photos, they will need to change their playing shirt or singlet quickly between photos. Thank you in advance to all parents for your assistance in ensuring that all students are present for their photo.

Best wishes for a wonderful week ahead.

GBC Primary

Saturday morning’s GBC Primary fixtures saw TSAC as the host venue for the second time this term, with picture perfect conditions greeting all students from the competing Colleges to a fantastic morning of basketball and football matches.

From a TSAC perspective, it was a truly outstanding morning of results, with a clean sweep of victories being recorded across the morning. This is the first time in a number of years that there has been a clean sweep of victories at Primary level across both sports in the same round. This is a truly fantastic performance and all students who played on the weekend should be incredibly proud of these results.

In the basketball fixtures played at the Secondary Campus, the Year 5/6 White team played in the game of the season so far, coming from 10 points down to secure a thrilling one point victory against their Sheldon College opponents. The four other teams all won fixtures against Redeemer Lutheran College, with the Year 5/6 Red and Year 3/4 Blue teams scoring over 50 points in their wins.

At the football fixtures played at the Primary Campus, the Year 5/6 team won its match 6 – 0, whilst both Year 3/4 teams scored five goals each in their respective wins.

This Saturday 11 September is the final round of fixtures for the term, with all teams playing at Redeemer Lutheran College.
