Sports Results – Saturday 3 August 2019
Saturday’s Junior TAS sport fixtures were the most successful of the year, with 7 wins and a draw secured from the 9 matches played.
All 5 basketball teams remain undefeated after 2 rounds of the season, with the TSAC Blue Boys, TSAC Red Boys and TSAC White Girls all winning both games so far this season, whilst the TSAC Blue Girls game finished in a 20 – 20 draw for the second straight week. The TSAC Red Girls, who had the bye in round 1, secured its opening win of the season by 16 points against Ormiston College.
The TSAC White Football team were super impressive in securing its first win of the season, a 7 – 0 victory over Sheldon College. Both the TSAC Navy Blue and TSAC Red teams recorded wins against St Paul’s School, with the TSAC Navy Blue team coming from 3 – 0 down to achieve a fantastic 4 – 3 comeback win.
In GBC Sport, TSAC travelled to Sheldon College to compete in Round 2. The Firsts Girls Touch team continued with their impressive form with a 8 – 5 win, and the Firsts Boys Basketball team were unfortunate not to secure maximum points after a physical but entertaining game, eventually losing 54 – 40.
The Junior A and Intermediate A Boys Football teams were unfortunate not to secure a draw, with both teams losing by only one goal in very close games.
In volleyball, the Intermediate B team are in first place on the GBC Ladder after securing a 2 sets to 1 victory and the Seconds team were outstanding in a closing contested 2 sets to 1 win.
Overall, I was most impressed by the level of sportsmanship, determination and teamwork displayed by the TSAC teams over the weekend.
Congratulations to all involved in a great weekend of sport.
