GBC Primary

Saturday’s morning GBC Primary fixtures saw both the TSAC Blue and TSAC Red football teams put in impressive performances again, to see both teams remain undefeated after 3 games.  Both teams came away with 5 – 2 wins in their respective fixtures, with TSAC Blue securing an away win over Sheldon College, whilst TSAC Red won at home against Redeemer Lutheran College.  The TSAC Blue Girls basketball team won their first match of the season, an 11 point win over Rivermount College, whilst the TSAC Red girls match against Sheldon College finished in a thrilling 12 – 12 draw.

Last Saturday saw the mighty TSAC Terriers host Ambrose Treacey College and Brigidine College for an outstanding morning of GBC Sport across three venues – Secondary Campus, Primary Campus and Springfield United Football Club. Our basketball boys were sensational in their efforts across all fixtures, taking away solid wins against ATC in the Firsts and Junior Bs with all other score lines very close. Our footballers had a hard fought morning against very strong ATC sides with our Firsts very unlucky not to come away with a win but should be very satisfied with their 2-2 draw. Special thanks to Mr Harding for organising and hosting our football games on the tremendous grounds at Springfield United Football Club and for sourcing a Springfield United team to play the ATC Year 7C side who struggle to get regular games.

Our girls had a very successful morning against Brigidine College with our 1sts, 2nds and Intermediate A Volleyball teams having decisive wins and our Junior A side going down with the narrowest of margins. Our touch football girls continue to go from strength to strength with a comprehensive 8-0 victory to our Firsts, taking their for and against to an outstanding 27-1. Our Junior As were unlucky to go down to a very strong Brigidine side who also play in the Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association. With Brigidine only providing two teams for the morning, we were very fortunate to have Sheldon College send their Intermediate B team to our school for a highly enjoyable and very spirited game.

Again, another thoroughly enjoyable morning had by all with teams spurred on with wonderful support from our coaches and permissible spectators. A big thank you to all players, coaches, officials and parents for helping to make sport available to our students in our current climate. We have a very special community and Saturday’s hosting was testament to this.

This coming Saturday will see our amazing athletes and their coaches host very competitive teams from Redeemer Lutheran College. Although we only have two rounds remaining, it is vital that all players avail themselves for remaining training sessions and advise their coach and coordinator as soon as possible if not available. Thank you again to everyone for their enthusiasm and commitment to our GBC Sports program. Best of luck for training and fixtures this week.
