GBC Primary

Saturday’s GBC Primary fixtures saw the College host all schools for Round 3 of the GBC Primary AFL season at the Primary Campus. It was an outstanding morning of football, particularly from a TSAC perspective, with the teams coming away with big wins for the morning.

The TSAC Red team secured its first win of the season, scoring an incredible 109 points in its win over Redeemer Lutheran College. The TSAC Blue team had back to back matches against both teams from Sheldon College, and were equally as impressive in both matches, securing big wins in both clashes to remain undefeated for the season.

At the Indoor Cricket at Springwood, the TSAC Sky Blue team continued its unbeaten run for the season, securing a comfortable 67 run win in its clash against Redeemer Lutheran College.

After a tough first two rounds of GBC Sport, our teams travelled west to Faith Lutheran College Plainlands last Saturday. The teams enjoyed many successes throughout the morning, but most of all enjoyed the warm hospitality our Crusader counterparts are known for offering.

Our senior AFL girls continued their dominating form with a tight victory over their undefeated opponents. This sets our girls up for a very good chance of a finals berth should they secure victories in the final two rounds. Our senior boys and two junior AFL teams continue to show tremendous improvement with each game. On the outdoor courts, our Firsts, Intermediate A and Intermediate B Basketball teams were all victorious, with our Junior B girls having yet another very narrow loss by one point. Inside Faith’s new sporting complex our Firsts, Seconds and Junior B Volleyball teams had straight sets victories whilst our remaining teams had hard fought fixtures against supplementary teams from Ambrose Treacy College. All in all, a fantastic morning with all players demonstrating wonderful team spirit, comradery and humility.

This Saturday, 6 March TSAC will host teams from Rivermount College for the first time since 2019 and no doubt it is going to be a cracking morning. With the Rite Journey event for Year 9 taking place Friday over night, GBC photos Saturday morning and scholarship exams Saturday afternoon, it is important that we are well organised. All team photos will be taking place from 7am before the morning’s first fixtures. All players and coaches will need to be ready and waiting for their team photo at 7am. It is important that all players are dressed in their correct team uniform and are wearing the white college or plain white sports socks. Where students are involved in two photos, they will need to change their playing shirt or singlet quickly between photos. Thank you in advance to all parents for your assistance in ensuring that all students are present for their photo.

Best wishes for a wonderful week ahead.

Sports Coordinator
