GBC Secondary

On Saturday 25th February, we hosted our GBC fixture against Faith Lutheran College. Our boys volleyball teams dominated the court with our senior firsts winning 3-0, intermediate firsts winning 2-0 and our Junior A winning 2-0. Our senior boys and girls AFL teams had a BYE and had the opportunity to train with the U18 Lions Academy coach. Our Junior AFL teams also dominated the field with the junior girls winning 36-30 and junior boys winning 80-7. Lastly, our basketball teams faced tough opposition on the junior and intermediate front. Our junior A team lost 12-18, in a nail-biting game. Our intermediate A team did exceptionally well considering they have right journey the night and morning before the game. Our senior firsts basketball team had an outstanding performance and came away with a 24-20 victory.

This weekend, our fixture is away against Redeemer. Mr Dennis (boys volleyball coordinator), Ms Schuler (girls basketball coordinator) and Ms Creati (boys and girls AFL coordinator) have been in touch with their teams regarding arrangements.

GBC Primary

AFL

This weekend, our TSAC Terriers travelled to Redeemer Lutheran College for their Round 3 GBC Primary Fixtures. Our 5/6 AFL Red team faced off against Staines Memorial College in a game where the ball was ever moving. Quick ball movement was the focus of the day for the 5/6 Red Team as they aimed to deliver the ball into their forward line. This style of play allowed our Terrier forwards to capitalise on their chances towards goal. Composure and decision making was the focus for our 5/6 Blue team as they came up against Redeemer Lutheran College. Players were challenged to use the ball with intent and care. This approach led to plenty of great team plays where all players were involved and shared the ball willingly.

All players did extremely well and they should be proud of their approach towards their games.

NETBALL

Our 3/4 netball teams continue to play with heart. It’s great to see techniques learnt in training transferring to the games on Saturday morning.  Our 5/6 netball teams have had some strong wins in the first two weeks of competition. This week saw a bump in the road with a few tough losses. Luckily TSAC students are resilient, and we’re excited to see them bounce back in week 4 of the competition. Week 4 brings an all TSAC affair for our 5/6 teams. There’s nothing quite like some interschool rivalry. We look forward to the week ahead of training and game play.

Week 4 is being held at Sheldon college. We wish all our netball teams the best of luck.
