GBC Primary

Saturday morning saw all of the College’s GBC Primary basketball and football teams host fixtures at the Secondary Campus. It was a wonderful morning for students to finally get to host home fixtures after such a long break.

On the basketball court, it was a very successful morning for the boys teams, with all 3 of those teams securing a win. The TSAC White boys won a thrilling high scoring match against Sheldon College, whilst the TSAC Blue boys teams scored an incredible 60 points in its win against Redeemer Lutheran College. Both girls teams put up strong competitive efforts in the matches against Sheldon College.

On the football field, both the TSAC Blue and TSAC Red teams followed up their round 1 wins, both of which they won by 5 goals, with another pair of 5 goal wins. Both teams won their fixtures against Redeemer Lutheran College 5 – 0. The TSAC White team, whilst unable to get in a win, produced a significantly improved performance this week to fall narrowly by 1 goal.

GBC

Last Saturday saw the mighty TSAC Terriers travel beyond the land of the Yatala Pie to Rivermount College for a wonderful morning of GBC sports – our first full round of GBC fixtures since term one. Our basketball boys were courageous across all games, with our Firsts and Junior Bs coming away with sizeable wins and our remaining teams experiencing only very narrow defeats. Our Seconds travelled to Ambrose Treacey College and played a very tight game. Our Volleyball girls also had a fantastic morning with our Firsts, Seconds and Intermediate B teams coming away victorious. Our Touch Football girls also asserted their dominance on the field with our Firsts handing Rivermount a very humbling 19-1 defeat. Our Intermediate A and Junior A teams were also too hard to control, dismantling their opposition’s defence for big wins. It was wonderful to witness the enthusiasm of many of our girls playing across volleyball and touch. A big mention to Loren Leli of Year 8 who played 1sts Volleyball, Intermediate A Touch and Firsts Touch all in the one morning. Finally, our Junior Football team enjoyed a very comprehensive victory, our Intermediates had a well fought draw with our Firsts defeated by a very impressive Rivermount team. Again, a thoroughly enjoyable morning had by all.

Fixtures this coming Saturday 29th August sees us host Ambrose Treacey College and Brigidine College for what will no doubt be a highly spirited morning. Whilst participation at training has been impressive, it is vital that all players avail themselves for training and advise their coach and coordinator as soon as possible if not available for training or games. Our amazing coaches continue to do a wonderful job with our Term Three GBC Sporting teams, and this weekend will no doubt see our teams strengthen further. Please remember that spectators are limited to one person per child and that all players and spectators are required to depart each venue immediately following the played fixture . Have a great week.
