Sports Results – Saturday 11 September 2021
Last Saturday saw the final round of GBC Sport fixtures for 2021 and what an outstanding morning it was. It was wonderful to provide the students and families of Ambrose Treacy College and Brigidine College the warm hospitality and fantastic atmosphere we have become known for amongst the association schools. A big thank you to Warren Newble and Richard Bannah for again catering the masses with delicious BBQ goods and cool drinks and for farewelling our Year 12 students as they played out their last ever GBC matches. The Pipe Band were a fitting addition to the balloons, streamers and fanfare surrounding the entrances to each of our playing areas. Thank you also to the droves of teachers, students and parents who cheered on teams throughout the morning.
Of the six GBC schools, TSAC finished third overall in all sports across the year. This is a fantastic achievement given the size of the school compared to others we complete with. Teams had fantastic results across all four sports last weekend with a big congratulations going to the Senior First Touch Football girls winning back to back premierships and to the Junior Seconds Basketball boys who also claimed first place. None of the teams could have possibly participated and achieved the successes they did without the tireless work of our GBC coordinators and coaches. A big thank you for your work with the students this term, and for many of you, your work throughout the year. Term 4 GBC Gala Day information will be released soon and as hosts we anticipate a fantastic day of tennis and AFL.
Saturday morning saw our GBC Primary teams venture out to Redeemer Lutheran College for the final round of fixtures for Term 3, the same venue that the term’s season began.
It was another very strong weekend of results to finish the season. The performances of the TSAC teams on the basketball court and football field this term has been tremendous, especially with the challenges that were presented with the break in the season that was forced upon everyone.
The final round of fixtures of the term was highlighted by the performance of the Year 5/6 Navy basketball team, who won its fixture against Redeemer Lutheran College with an incredible 76 – 6 score line, whilst the Year 5/6 Blue football team finished its season in fine form with a 4 – 2 win.
Congratulations to all students who represented the College in GBC Primary basketball and football during Term 3. A huge thank you as well to all the coaches and staff who put in a huge amount of work to ensure our teams could play at such a high level throughout the term.
