Saturday’s JTAS Fixtures saw teams competing in the final round of the term, with 6 of the 7 teams in action playing home fixtures.
The highlight of the morning came from the JTAS Navy Blue Basketball team, whose 30 point win over Sheldon College saw it finish the season undefeated. This is an outstanding achievement from the team, who were brilliantly coached throughout the term by Year 11 student Nicholas Waite. Congratulations to all members of the team on their fantastic season.
The JTAS Sky Blue Football team finished its season in style with a 6 – 1 victory over Cannon Hill Anglican College, whilst the JTAS Sky Blue Basketball team also finished the season with a win over Ormiston College.
In GBC Sport, it was a competitive weekend of fixtures at Sheldon College, with a place in the GBC Grand Finals at stake.
The Seconds Girls Touch team secured their place in the GBC Grand Final with convincing 7 – 1 win, and the Intermediate B Touch team won by the closest of margins, 2 -1, to join the Intermediate A and Seconds Touch teams in the Finals. The Junior Boys Soccer team narrowly missed out on a place in the final with a close 1 – 0 loss, as did the Firsts with its 0 – 0 draw.
Congratulations also to the Firsts and Seconds Boys Basketball teams, and the Junior A Girls Volleyball team who have qualified for the Grand Finals to be held at Redeemer Lutheran College next Saturday.
The Physical Education and Sport Department would like to congratulate all students who have represented the College in JTAS and GBC Sport this term, and to thank all the coaches for their hard work and contribution in looking after the teams.
