Chaplaincy

The Springfield Anglican College is a Christian School within the Anglican Tradition.

As set out in the Vision Statement for Anglican Schools in the Diocese of Brisbane: “As a learning community seeking excellence, along with Anglican Schools in the Diocese of Brisbane we are called to share the mission of the church to proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God through: Faith, Honour and Service.”

Faith, Honour and Service College Motto

Faith

Promoting faith in Jesus Christ among students, staff and families. Offering opportunity for students, staff and family to worship God and experience Christian community in the Anglican way.

The primary way faith is promoted is in the weekly Chapel services. Chapel services are themed with major Anglican festivals celebrated; and is shaped by the College Chaplain who works closely with teachers and their classes in preparation for weekly Chapel.

Honour

Educating students to value themselves and respect each other as gifted parts of God’s creation with a vocation to explore, understand, nurture, and serve that creation. Helping students to develop their God given gifts, talents and opportunities.

A great strength of the College is the manner in which pastoral care is extended to members of the College community. Religious Education classes and pastoral care structures reinforce self-respect and respect for others and challenges students to explore other beliefs and contemporary issues.

Service

Enabling students to develop skills and values to live in peace and harmony, seeking justice for all with a priority for the poor, powerless, persecuted and marginalised.

Each year the College community demonstrates our love for God by a life of service to others. Enthusiastic fundraising for needy causes are common throughout each term, with Year 10 spending time assisting others as part of the Triple S Program – Study, Skills and Service.
