The TSAC Board

The Board’s role is to maintain and oversee the company and the College, through the defining and monitoring of strategic directions, developing policies, establishing control and accountability systems and to monitor the effectiveness of the College’s performance and itself as the Board.

As a company limited by guarantee, FSAC Ltd (the owner of The Springfield Anglican College), reports to the Australian Securities Commission annually.

The College is accredited by the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board and is a registered CRICOS Provider (01406C) for international education.

Dr Barry L Kelly – Chairman

BCom (Qld), HonDBus (Qld), FAICD, FAIM, CPA, JP (Qual)

Dr Kelly was appointed Chairman of the Board on October 2, 2009. He is a graduate of both the University of Queensland and the Harvard Business School.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. His career spans more than 35 years in the minerals and resources sector in Australia, Asia, the UK, Europe and South America.

Dr Kelly is a company director who has served on company boards in Australia, Austria, Germany and Japan. He was a member of the Anglican Church Grammar School Council since 1990 until 2012.  He was appointed Chairman in 2004.

Dr Kelly was awarded the Australian Institute of Company Directors – Queensland Division Gold Medal in 2011.

Mr Ian D Turner

BEcon, BCom (QLD), FCPA, GAICD

Mr Turner has a wide and varied commercial and educational administrative background. He served as Bursar of the Queensland Agricultural College (now UQ Gatton Campus) from 1976 until 1984.

In 1984, Mr Turner took up the position of Commercial Director of The Anglican Church Grammar School and served in that role until he retired in April 2008.

Mr Turner was a member of Diocesan Services Commission of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane from 2005 until 2010.

In June 2008, he was elected to the position of Treasurer of the Synod of the Diocese of Brisbane, a role he occupied until the end of 2012.

He is currently a Director of ANFIN (Anglican Financial Services) and a Member of the Finance Services Commission of the Diocese.

Mrs Ngaire Tagney

BEd, GradDipEd (Literacy), Cert T

Mrs Tagney is an experienced and credentialed educator, former Head of Primary at Moreton Bay College, and now the Director of Strategic Workplace Learning. This consultancy provides professional learning programs for Independent Schools Queensland and individual schools.

Mrs Tagney has extensive educational experience and holds a Bachelor of Education and a Graduate Diploma in Education in Literacy. Mrs Tagney has been awarded the John Laing Professional Development Award by Principal’s Australia for her outstanding contribution to Leadership and Learning.

Ms Jane Crombie

BHMS, Grad Dip T, GAICD, Dip Fin Plan, JP (Qual)

Ms Crombie is an experienced financial services professional. As Head of Investment Research at HLB Mann Judd Wealth and Superannuation Qld, she has extensive experience in investment strategy, risk, portfolio management and philanthropic services.

Ms Crombie is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, is currently completing an MBA at QUT, and has held director and chair positions on boards and committees across the finance, not for profit and education sectors.


The TSAC Council

The role of The Springfield Anglican College Council is to provide strategic guidance and monitoring of the College’s future direction, ensure the College operates within the boundaries set by the Board, establish appropriate internal control processes and accountability systems and ensure a high level of organisational performance.

Dr Murray J Evans – Chairman

BCom, MED, PhD, FQIEA, FACE

Dr Evans has a long and distinguished career in education in Australia and overseas in both secondary and tertiary institutions. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Education and a Doctorate in Pedagogy and Educational Administration.

Dr Evans has completed 16 years of outstanding service as Principal of Somerville House in 2003; and has held senior positions in the independent schools sector including President of the Independent Schools Queensland and Deputy Chair of the QLD Independent Schools Block Grant Authority.

Dr Evans is currently Director of Evans Educational Consulting Pty Ltd and a member of various school boards.

Mrs Ngaire Tagney

Mr James Mason

OAM, BA (hons), Dip Ed. Grad Dip Ed (Admin), MACE

Mr Mason was educated at Nudgee College and the University of Queensland. He has had over forty year experience as a teacher and administrator both in Queensland and in New South Wales. For many years he was on the staff of the Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) where he was the Head of the Senior School.

Mr Mason is also a well-respected author with over a dozen textbooks in his subject field of history. In 2006 he was awarded an OAM in the Australia Day Honours List for his services to education and writing.

Dr Bryan Dubbledam

BDsc, MBA (Health Services Management), MADA

Dr Bryan Dubbeldam graduated from the University of Queensland in 1993 with a Bachelor of Dental Science. He joined the Royal Australian Air Force and, during this part of his career, he had the opportunity to practice around Australia and was also deployed to East Timor. Dr Dubbeldam left the permanent Force as Air Force’s Senior Dentist and he remains a Consultant in the Air Force Reserve. Dr Dubbeldam also completed a Master of Business Administration in 2005.

Dr Dubbeldam established Orion Dental Centre in 2008 and is active within the dental profession as a Member of the Australian Dental Association and the Vardiman Dental Study Club.

Dr Dubbeldam has supported the College through the Community Alliance Program since its inception in 2009 as well as within the broader Springfield community as a member of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
